The team Spurs must pick to cause carnage for Arsenal

Without a doubt, the four players Spurs should drop to the bench for the Arsenal game next weekend are Heung-min Son, Eric Dier, Dele Alli and Kieran Trippier.

Son has been playing brilliantly for most of the season, but twice on Sunday he missed game defining goalscoring chances, and Lucas Moura can add so much pace to the Spurs attack, giving the South Korean a well-earned rest.

With Toby Alderweireld fit, it’s a no-brainer, he has to play in the back 3. Hopefully, Davinson Sanchez will have one of his better games this time, sandwiched between the aforementioned Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen.

Dier, however, must be dropped after another disastrous performance at Anfield, not only the mental back-pass which led to the first Liverpool goal, but his hopeless performance going forward as well.

Dele Alli continues to underperform, and I as a fellow Spur, hate to see diving, especially when he was through on goal, and the defender was not even goalside of him. He’s stopped scoring, stopped creating chances, and generally, he has been disappointing recently.

Kieran Trippier has been playing well, but I feel the pace and link-up play between Aurier and his old teammate Lucas Moura, will be impossible for the Arsenal defence to contain.

So, my line-up would look like this:

Lloris (C)

Alderweireld Sanchez Vertonghen

Aurier Dembele Wanyama Davies

Moura Eriksen

Kane

That’s a great solid-looking defence, an awesome powerhouse of central midfield, topped off with pace, skill and finishing of a world-class frontline.

I am looking forward to the north London derby with bated-breath and the anticipation that something incredible, and devastating, is going to be unleashed against Arsenal this coming weekend!!!
