Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool will fight it out for the Champions League trophy on Saturday at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid.
Both teams come into the game high on confidence after producing terrific comebacks in the second legs of their respective semi-final clashes against Barcelona and Ajax.
Ahead of the game, former Liverpool manager and player Graeme Souness has insisted that Tottenham are fortunate to be in the final. In an interview to Balls.IE, the 66-year-old also said that only Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen from Spurs would be capable of getting into Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Reacting to Souness’ comments, some Spurs fans on social media suggested that the former Spurs academy product had just made Mauricoo Pochettino’s job easier by giving him inspiration for his pre-match team talk.
Check out how some Spurs fans reacted to the comments:
Isn’t it ironic that Liverpool lost exactly 19 games the year they last won the Champions League?

What do you mean don't deserve to be there, whoever gets there deserves to be there. Pochettino should show this to the players give them even more motivation than they already have

Team talk sorted then. I’d rather pundits doubt us & talk down on us. We thrive more when we’re underdogs. https://t.co/JQmiD2n6fK

Graeme Souness saying that we shouldn't be in the CL final and that we're very fortunate to be there, has actually made me laugh you know. What an absolute tool mate

Spurs Web Opinion
Given the character and determination that Tottenham have shown over the course of the current Champions League campaign, no one can say that Spurs don’t deserve to be in the final.
Let’s hope the Liverpool players are as confident as Souness heading into the game, in which case they could be in for a rude awakening.
