Teammate insists Spurs-linked striker wants to stay despite lucrative offers

Youssef En-Nesyri, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham this summer, wants to stay at Sevilla despite receiving several lucrative offers, his club and international teammate, Yassine Bounou has revealed.

Reports indicate that Tottenham are keen to sign a striker who can serve as Harry Kane’s back-up this summer after passing up on the option of signing Carlos Vinicius permanently.

En-Nesyri, who exploded into life for Sevilla last season with 24 goals in all competitions, is one of the options thought to be on Spurs’ radar.

Mundo Deportivopo reported a couple of weeks ago that Tottenham and their London rivals, West Ham had both expressed interest in the Morocco international.

However, the report asserted that the Sevilla star was not particularly keen on a move to either club and sought to join ‘one of the greats’ instead.

If Bounou’s latest assertion is to be believed, the 24-year-old is set to reject advances from clubs in favour of staying at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.

When asked about En-Nesyri’s future, the goalkeeper told Marca: “He is a player who wants to be in the club, he has commitment, and that is important.

“He has offers everywhere and collects better, but he wants to be in the club. He wants to improve his performances and his level. It is important to have players like that.

“It is a forward who gave us something else, with more play in space, in addition to position. Youssef still has room for improvement, which is exciting for the team and the club.”

If even if Nuno is to switch to two up front next season (as some reports suggest), the Spurs head coach and Fabio Paratici would still find it difficult to convince a top striker to come to Tottenham.

Kane and Son are certain to start if they stay at the club which means that rising stars like Vlahovic and En-Nesyri might have doubts about getting regular game time at Spurs.
