‘Technically unbelievable’ – Premier League opponent praises James Maddison

Former Norwich City defender Max Aarons has been discussing what it was like to play alongside James Maddison, and he was full of praise for the Tottenham Hotspur talisman.

Maddison may have begun his career at Coventry City, but it is at Norwich where the playmaker really made his name. 16 goals and 13 assists in 53 appearances for the Canaries across all competitons (Transfermarkt) were enough to seal a move to Leicester City, where Maddison went on to the next level.

Maddison is excelling in his new life at Tottenham Hotspur since making the move to North London from Leicester City in the summer, the 26-year-old has registered three goals and five assists for Spurs (Transfermarkt).

Sadly, Maddison is currently out injured, and it will be into the New Year until Tottenham fans get to see their new star man in action again. While Ange Postecoglou‘s side have weathered the storm without him, it’s clear how much the Lilywhites are missing Maddison’s creativity.

Max Aarons heaps praise on James Maddison

There has been plenty of praise for Maddison over the course of this season, and now Max Aarons has added his name to the list of admirers for the Spurs man.

When discussing their days at Norwich together, the now Bournemouth player told the Filthy Fellas podcast: “He is unbelievable. You would have all seen it, but it is his confidence on the pitch.

“I think that confidence lifts the players around him, because he is always wanting the ball even when you are under pressure. He is technically unbelievable, but I love his mindset too.”

I can’t wait for James Maddison to come back and get on that pitch for Spurs. The team have done really well in his absence, but once he’s back we will start flying again, and it will be a joy to watch.
