Ten players who should be given a chance against Colchester in the League Cup

Tottenham Hotspur manager, Mauricio Pochettino, will have a real chance to heavily rotate his squad and give some different players a run-out against Colchester in the League Cup this month.

The main priority is to progress to the next round as the Carabao Cup could be the best chance ofa trophy this season, but handing out minutes is also high on the agenda.

Here are ten players I believe should be given a chance to impress, if fit:

Paulo Gazzaniga – We haven’t seen the Argentine in goal yet this season, but I would expect Poch to make him the League and FA Cup goalie for the campaign.

Japhet Tanganga – Looked a first-team player in pre-season and I believe he should be given a chance to impress. I also think he would grab it with both hands.

Ben Davies – Danny Rose has started all four Prem games so far, with Davies recovering from injury. It would be good to see the Welshman back out there soon.

Serge Aurier – Not my favourite player, but with the current right-back situation, he simply must get some minutes under his belt.

Eric Dier – Hasn’t had consistent football in a good while due to injuries and illness so is well due a run out in the first team.

Victor Wanyama – Didn’t end up leaving in the summer and offers something different in the centre of midfield, could be valuable this season and needs to improve his fitness.

Oliver Skipp – Featuring more and more for Spurs but desperately needs a start to progress further.

Giovani Lo Celso – Appeared three times for Spurs so far, but still no starts to his name. This could be the perfect match to put him into for his full debut.

Ryan Sessegnon – If he is fit and ready, this could also be the perfect game for Sess to stretch his legs for the first time in a Spurs shirt. Can’t wait to see him out there.

Troy Parrott – This lad simply must get some first-team football this year. Looks a real talent and Poch should be looking to build on that sooner rather than later.
