Three Spurs stars react to Palace win

Tottenham really needed to win all three points against Crystal Palace after registering just one win in their first four Premier League games.

A lot of Spurs stars were involved in international action this week and one would have been forgiven for expecting the team to make a flat start.

However, Pochettino’s men came racing out of the blocks and pushed Palace back right from kick off.

The intensity that Spurs displayed in their pressing yesterday was something that we haven’t seen for the last couple of years.

Spurs also cut through the visitor’s defence at will and fashioned chance after chance in the first half. They got four goals for their efforts, with Son Heung-Min netting a brace.

Tottenham dropped their intensity in the second half and shut shop, thus saving their legs for the Champions League opener in midweek.

Harry Kane, Toby Alderweireld and Lucas Moura have all taken to social media to reveal their delight at the performance and result.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham have not pressed with as much intensity as they did yesterday for the last couple of years, with Pochettino often opting to sit a little deeper and play on the counter. However, that performance showed that the team still very much has that in their locker and hopefully that performance is a sign of things to come.
