‘That good’ – Ex-Chelsea man makes David Beckham claim about Spurs star

Jason Cundy has insisted that Harry Kane is as good a passer of the ball as David Beckham was.

Kane has been widely recognised as one of the best number nines in world football for several years now due to his outstanding goalscoring record but the striker has added more strings to his bow over the last couple of years.

The 28-year-old is now impacting matches much more while dropping deep, showcasing his vision and passing range, while arguably being Tottenham’s best creator over recent seasons.

The England captain is starting to get the credit he deserves for that part of his game, with some pundits even comparing his passing to that of Manchester City superstar Kevin De Bruyne (Sky Sports).

Cundy has become the latest ex-player to rave about Kane’s passing range, with the former Chelsea midfielder insisting the Tottenham man is as good as Beckham when it comes to picking players out.

Asked if he thought Kane or Beckham was a better passer of the ball, he told talkSPORT: “Kane, I think Kane is one of the best passers right now. There’s nothing in it. Kane’s passing is unbelievable.

“I’ve not said [Beckham’s] a bad passer of the ball. There’s nothing in it. Honestly, Kane is that good.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Beckham’s ball-striking technique was second to none and so it is certainly high praise for Kane to be compared to the former England captain, in terms of his passing.

While Beckham probably has a better passing range than Kane when given time and space, I would argue that Kane is more versatile with his passing and better at creating space for himself.
