‘That won’t work’ – Gary Neville predicts the result for Tottenham vs Arsenal

Gary Neville has backed Arsenal to take all three points from their trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

The focus of much of the footballing world will be on North London on Sunday as Arsenal travel to the home of their bitter rivals for a game that could have huge consequences for both sides.

The Gunners are chasing the Premier League title and would want to win to keep up the pressure on Manchester City while Spurs fans will love nothing more than to see their side severely dent their rivals’ title bid.

Tottenham also need the three points for their own objective of Champions League qualification as they look to stay in touching distance of Aston Villa.

Spurs captain Son Heung-min has remarked that he and his teammates are keen to prove a point on Sunday against the Old Enemy on the back of their embarrassing loss against Newcastle, terming their performance at St James’ Park as ‘unacceptable’ (Football.London).

Gary Neville expects naive Spurs to lose North London Derby

However, Neville believes that Tottenham’s ultra-attacking approach will backfire in the derby.

The pundit said on Sky Sports: “I expect Arsenal to win this game because Tottenham will play gung-ho football, almost saying you have a shot and then we have a shot.

“That won’t work against Arsenal – they’ve got better players than Tottenham. They’re a better team, more of a unit and they’ll win the football match.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Neville’s point about Tottenham’s brand of playing into Arsenal’s hands is a fair one. The Gunners are resolute defensively and will look to keep the home side out and take advantage of any opportunities to counter. We will have to take our chances if we are to get a result on Sunday.
