‘That would be very good’ – Spurs player on Scott Parker manager links

Ryan Sessegnon reacted positively when asked about links between Scott Parker and the Tottenham head coach position next season.

Jose Mourinho was only in charge of the North London side for 17 months before Daniel Levy and co gave him the boot, replacing him with Ryan Mason on an interim basis.

However, the former Spurs academy graduate is currently only in charge until the end of the current campaign, meaning just four more Premier League matches.

Julian Nagelsmann was said to be Tottenham’s number one choice this summer before he signed for Bayern Munich, while Erik ten Hag decided to sign a new deal with Ajax amidst Spurs links.

The Evening Standard reported that Scott Parker was now part of a five-man shortlist for Spurs, including Graham Potter, Ralf Rangnick, Gareth Southgate and Roberto Martinez.

Sessegnon, who was sent out on loan to Hoffenheim this season, played alongside Scott Parker during his final season at Fulham.

When asked about the links, the Spurs man said (TalkSPORT): “That would be very good!

“Everyone knows the relationship I have with Scott. He’s a top guy, top man and a top coach. He’s just an all-around great guy.

“I played with him in his last season I think in professional football and my first. He’s someone that has obviously always believed in me as well.

“They [Fulham] have got fantastic results against some of the big teams where other teams wouldn’t have thought they would get those type of points. Scott has got them playing the right type of football; that’s what I admire about him.

“He obviously has a philosophy of play and sticks to it and all the players are buying into that. Recently, it hasn’t been so good for them in terms of results, but I think the performances and effort is still there.

“I hope they [Fulham] still get out of the situation they are in and stay up, of course. Like you say, it’s a club that is very close to me and I hope that they do it.”
