“That’s disappointing” – Some Spurs fans vent their frustration at failed striker pursuit

Some Spurs fans on social media are panicking after reports emerged suggesting Tottenham are unlikely to land Olivier Giroud from Chelsea on deadline day.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein reported today that Chelsea failed in their attempts to secure a replacement for Giroud and so are unlikely to let him leave.

The final nail in the coffin was Frank Lampard’s confirmation that the 33-year-old is going nowhere this month (BBC).

Additionally, a report in Football Insider today revealed that Jose Mourinho has blocked Troy Parrott’s proposed loan move to the Championship as Spurs are uncertain whether they will be able to sign a striker before the close of the transfer window.

With Harry Kane expected to be out until April, it will be a massive blow if the club fails to get in a centre forward before the transfer window shuts.

With just hours left in the transfer window, some Spurs fans were getting extremely concerned that no forward looked close to moving to North London.
