Tottenham were beaten 2-1 by Burnley at Turf Moor this afternoon in what was a disappointing outing for Lilywhites.
The result puts a massive question mark over Spurs’ title aspirations as Liverpool could now go 8 points clear with a win at Old Trafford tomorrow.
To people’s surprise, Mauricio Pochettino decided to hand a start to Harry Kane who marked his return with a goal. However, that wasn’t enough as goals from Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes either side of Kane’s goal saw the Clarets take all three points.
Burnley’s first goal, however, was mired in controversy as the corner that led to the goal seemed to have been incorrectly awarded. Replays showing that the ball came off a Burnley player before it went out of play.
Pochettino made his displeasure known at the decision to the fourth official during the game. The Argentine was still fuming after the final whistle as he along with his assistant Jesus Perez squared up to Mike Dean after the final whistle and had a heated exchange.
While some Spurs fans liked the passion that Pochettino displayed, others felt the 46-year-old’s reaction was a bit over the top. Here’s how some fans reacted to the news:
Mike Dean wants no part of that Pochettino smoke. Told him he was gonna catch a fade. Don’t lip read, just trust me.

We weren’t good enough, sluggish, CE & HMS way below their best. Conceded 2 poor goals. That’s why we lost, nothing to do with Mike Dean.
Hate these lunchtime games.

I would have paid to see Pochettino chokeslam Mike Dean in the middle of the pitch.
