‘That’s where it starts’ – Club president makes positive statement over potential purchase of Spurs man

Tottenham Hotspur became the first ever Premier League side not to make a single summer signing this year, and many have speculated over whether this was through choice, or a lack of funds due to the new stadium.

Either way, it seems as if Spurs and Pochettino will only be bringing in fresh faces in January if they are able to trim some of the fat around the squad.

The likes of Mousa Dembele, Victor Wanyama, Michel Vorm, Georges-Kevin Nkoudou, Vincent Janssen, and Fernando Llorente are all possible sales for the North London club in the new year.

The last name on that list is possibly currently the most likely to be on the way out.

Llorente is tipped to join up with his old club of Athletic Bilbao, a club he controversially left on a free for Juventus earlier in his career.

However, ill feelings may have been finally brushed aside, as a new President now resides over the club.

Aitor Elizegi had this to say on Llorente’s desire to return (AS): “That’s where it starts. I don’t know if Tottenham negotiates.”

Sport Witness claim Spurs will want over 10 million Euros for the striker, but this seems an unlikely figure.
