‘The ability he’s got at his age is mad’- Troy Parrott’s teammate gives glowing review

Troy Parrott’s Ireland Under-21 teammate, Danny McNamara has raved about the ability that the Spurs striker possesses and tipped him to achieve big things in the future.

Parrott has not had the best of starts to his loan spell at Milwall as he suffered a quad injury in pre-season that ruled him out of the first few games of the campaign.

The teenager made his long-awaited debut in the League Cup clash against Burnley two weeks ago but was withdrawn at half-time, with Millwall boss Gary Rowett admitting after the game that the striker had felt his ankle (South London Press).

McNamara came through the Millwall academy but has not shared a dressing room with Parrott at the Den, having been loaned out to Scottish Premiership side St Johnstone in the summer.

However, the defender has been impressed with what he has seen from the Spurs man during his time with Ireland’s Under-21 side.

McNamara insisted that the striker has made the right decision to head on loan to Millwall and believes he will become a fan favourite at the club once he gets a run of games under his belt.

He told News at Den: “You can see Troy’s talent, he’s a young lad and the ability he’s got at his age is mad.

“He’s going to be a very good player and going on loan to Millwall is one of the best things he could have done.

“You can learn so much from the lads and the manager. I think once he’s back fit he’ll do really well for Millwall.

“From playing with Troy, he’s got a bit of grit about him, he’s got that Irish way about him.

“He’ll fit in really well and the crowd will really like him, as soon as he starts putting the ball in the back of the net and showing that he does work hard on the pitch.

“The fans will get to know him and really take to him.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Spurs fans would have been hoping that Parrott, like Oliver Skipp, would have made an immediate impact in the Championship but the young striker has been extremely unlucky with injuries so far. Hopefully, he recovers fully during the international break and finds his scoring boots for Gary Rowett’s side.
