The impressive transformation from Poch’s first-ever starting XI – check out who played

Tottenham Hotspur have been on one hell of a journey over the last five years, and much of that is down to Mauricio Pochettino and his talented team.

Poch has taken Spurs from European wanabes to Champions League finalists in just five seasons, despite not receiving much in the way of financial backing.

This becomes even more impressive once you check out the dramatic transformation from Pochettino’s first ever XI , compared to the team that played in the CL final this month.

Back in 2014, even the most ambitious of fans would not have guessed that this team would eventually develop into one of the best in the world.

Poch went for Brad Friedel in goal, with a back four of Danny Cose, Zeki Fryers, Michael Dawson, and Kyle Naughton.

In midfield, Lewis Holtby and Etienne Capoue held down the holding roles, while Andros Townsend and Aaron Lennon occupied the wings and Tommy Carrol acted as chief playmaker.

Harry Kane led the line, one of the only everpresent players along with Rose. Check out the two teams below, first game in charge vs Champions League final:
