Tottenham Hotspur fans have been blessed to have witnessed some of the greatest players in the game pull on the famous lilywhite shirt in the years gone by. Very few players have given Spurs fans as many fond memories as the legendary winger Cliff Jones.
The Welshman featured for Spurs 318 times in the ten years he spent at the club from 1958-1968 and found the back of the net 135 times.
Jones was also a pivotal member of the greatest Tottenham team of all time which won the double in 1960-61 season under Bill Nicholson.
Even after his playing career came to an end, the 84-year-old has continued to be one of Tottenham’s biggest supporters and continues to be present at matches to this very day, as anyone who follows him on social media will attest to.
Today marked 51 years since the Welshman moved to Tottenham from Swansea Town back in 1958.
Spurs fans will love the heartfelt message that Jones tweeted out to mark the occasion.
The best football decision I ever made and the start of a relationship that has lasted to this day. Proud to be associated with @SpursOfficial the best club in the country, to me, like thousands of others its part of my family, long may it continue #COYS https://t.co/TjSmSpHXZC
