‘The biggest’ – Redknapp makes North London derby claim after Spurs climb the table

Jamie Redknapp has claimed the North London derby, which is still to be rescheduled at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, could be one of the biggest in years, given both Arsenal’s and Spurs’ Champions League ambitions.

Tottenham’s 3-1 win over West Ham United on Sunday has brought them within three points off the Gunners, who still have a game in hand over the Lilywhites.

However, Mikel Arteta’s men still have to come to Spurs for the derby after the fixture, which was originally scheduled for January but got postponed due to injuries and Covid-19 cases in the Arsenal camp (ESPN).

The rearranged date of the fixture is yet to be confirmed by the Premier League and Redknapp believes the result of the match will have a huge bearing on who finishes in the top four.

The pundit pointed out that Spurs have favourable fixtures heading into the final two months of the season and insisted anything can happen in the race for fourth place.

The North London derby will obviously be crucial, given that it is shaping out to be a six-pointer.

However, Arsenal also have some other really tough away games coming up against the likes of Newcastle, Chelsea, West Ham and Southampton, as well as a home game against Man Utd.

So, Artata’s men will drop a lot of points over the next couple of months and the likes of Man Utd are still very much in the race for fourth.
