The Sun have linked former Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor with a shock return to the Premier League this month with Aston Villa said to have been offered his services.’T
Adebayor spent three full seasons at White Hart Lane after arriving from Manchester City in the summer of 2011. He had a relatively successful spell for the club managing 42 goals and registering 20 assists in a Spurs shirt (transfermarkt.com).
However, the centre forward’s alleged attitude issues also came to the fore during his time at the club as he eventually fell out with Mauricio Pochettino before being sold.
On hearing the news of Adebayor’s potential return to the Premier League, some Spurs fans warned Aston Villa of what they were in for with the 35-year-old and urged the newly promoted side not to sign him.
Meanwhile, a few others cheekily suggested that perhaps Spurs could bring him in as a temporary solution for the club’s injury woes:
Adebayor is available on a free, unfinished business at Spurs. I'm just going to sit back and read the comments 🤣🤣 pic.twitter.com/WZ2uxGKVjh

Might as well bring back Adebayor whilst we're at it too! @SpursOfficial

Spurs Web Opinion
While I have little respect for Adebayor as a person, he was actually quite underrated as a player for Spurs. While he was never a prolific goalscorer, he was a very good all-round centre forward who was particularly excellent for us in his first season and a half with us.
