‘The certainty is’ – Bryan Gil comments on his immediate future amidst loan spell

Bryan Gil has admitted he is unsure where his future lies beyond the end of this season having hit a strong spell of form on loan at Valencia from Tottenham.

The 21-year-old secured a move back to La Liga on transfer deadline day in January after just six months in North London and has already been a hit at the Mestalla.

While his displays under Jose Bordalas have not quite earned him recall back to the Spain squad ahead of the international break at the end of the month, Gil will surely have one eye on the World Cup.

Valencia are said to be so impressed with Gil so far, that they have made it their intention to keep the young winger on their books for another season at the conclusion of his loan spell (El Desmarque).

And when quizzed about his future, Gil kept his cards close to his chest and said he would be ‘lying’ if he shared anything at the moment.

He said, via Estadio Deportivo: “The certainty is that my loan will end in June.

“Who knows if I’ll stay for another year? If I tell you that I’m staying for another year or not, I’d be lying to you.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Gil is one of the most talented products in Spanish football and Spurs have done very well to have secured him permanently last summer.

It hasn’t happened for him yet in north London but he has rediscovered some form with Valencia which should go some way to improving him going forward.

Hopefully, he is given a chance in England, but even if he doesn’t make it work Spurs will definitely be able to find suitors for him.
