‘The club was made for me’ – Midfielder is loving life at Tottenham 

James Maddison admits that he is absolutely loving life at Tottenham Hotspur, remarking that he has fit into the club like a hand to glove since making the move from Leicester City last summer.

Although Maddison has only been at Tottenham for around seven months and has spent a considerable portion of that time on the treatment table, it already feels like the midfielder has been at the club forever.

Such has been the way the 27-year-old has taken to life with the Lilywhites, having quickly become one of the leaders of the side.

The England international is the man who makes Spurs tick going forward with his fantastic vision and creativity, and he has quickly won the respect of his teammates.

James Maddison was made for Tottenham Hotspur

Some Spurs supporters will feel that Maddison is already on his way to becoming a future club legend and the midfielder himself has now admitted that things could not have gone any smoother in his first year in N17.

Following the club’s win over Palace, the number ten told supporters in attendance at the private members H Club at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (as recorded by WeAreTottenhamTV): “I absolutely love it here. I feel like the club was made for me. I have always been a fan of some of the players that have played in my position in Spurs teams in the past. 

“When I was looking at my options in the summer I just saw there might be a gap for me to come in and slot into this side. I have loved it. Everyone has taken to me, so thank you for that. I hope we can bring success here.”

Some players are just born to play for Tottenham and instantly build a connection with the fan base as soon as arriving. Rafael Van der Vaart is perhaps the obvious example that comes to mind and Maddison has had the same sort of impact as the Dutchman.

It is no coincidence that both players are number tens who are capable of creating magic on the ball as Spurs fans love to watch those kinds of creative geniuses.
