It is no secret that our form in the Premier League for the last year has been extremely poor and a comparison of our current points tally after 25 games compared to last season highlights this in spades.

With Spurs having shown steady improvement from year on year under Mauricio Pochettino until 2018, there was a feeling that a Premier League title was just around the corner.

Even until a year ago, there was still talk that Spurs could push Manchester City and Liverpool all the way for the title.

However, we crumbled in the league last season and only managed to scrape a fourth place finish due to the inconsistencies of our rivals.

A comparison by The Sun of the current Premier League table compared with last season’s table after 25 games has revealed that Tottenham have endured the worst decline in the league over the last twelve months.

The Lilywhites were third in the Premier League at this time last season, just five points off leaders Manchester City as opposed to now when we find ourselves sixth and a staggering 36 points behind top of the table Liverpool.

It is revealed that Spurs had amassed 20 more points at this stage last season than they do now which goes to show how drastic the decline has been.

Spurs Web Opinion

I actually didn’t think we were playing all too well in the first half of last season either but we were just somehow getting the right results. I hoped that we would hit our stride around February but the results caught up with our performances in the second half of the season.
