The five Spurs academy starlets who need to be given more minutes this season

Tottenham Hotspur currently have an embarrassment of riches in their academy system, which was highlighted by the successful pre-season tour this year.

Pochettino not only took a load of the youngsters along for the ride, but he also didn’t hesitate to reward their time and effort with significant minutes on the pitch.

With Spurs competing in the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and League Cup again this season, Pochettino will need to take the pressure off his first-team stars.

It is likely that a select handful of youngsters will be given the opportunity to at least feature through the season, so here are the five I want to see on the pitch.

Oliver Skipp –

Already a regular first-team player, but I want to see Skippy getting some more starts under his belt. For me, that is the natural progression for him.

Troy Parrott –

This kid has it all, and with no back up to Kane in the senior squad, surely Poch has to hand him a few games in the cups?

Japhet Tanganga –

This kid looked like Tottenham’s best defender in pre-season and I think it would be a real waste not to try him out at some point this year.

Harvey White –

Looks a handy young midfielder and worked hard in both centre-mid and full-back in pre-season. Would be interesting to see him get a few cameos in the early rounds of the cups.

Brooklyn Lyons-Foster –

Was taken along to the pre-season tour of Asia but did not feature. I have heard and seen good things from this youngster and would love to see him get a little run-out.
