Tottenham Hotspur have a number of world-class players within their squad, but Christian Eriksen has to go down as one of the very best in his position in world football.
It was, therefore, a big blow for Spurs when the Great Dane came out after the Champions League Final and declared his desire to leave the club in search of a new challenge and a step up (Ekstra Bladet).
Ever since that day, with a year left on his contract, Eriksen has been linked to a move away to either Man United or Real Madrid (Standard).
However, could an announcement out of Tottenham today be a hint that the playmaker will be staying for at least another season?
Spurs released their new home and away kits for the 2019/20 season today, and, strangely, Eriksen was included in both promotional videos.
It would seem strange to include a player in the promo if they were on the brink of leaving the club, although not impossible.
Spurs Web Opinion:
I hope that this is an indication that Eriksen is staying at Spurs and they are talking through a new contract. The last thing I want to see is him leave on a free next summer, with Spurs losing a quality player and a big transfer fee.
