The impressive stats behind Ndombele’s performance against Norwich

Despite Tottenham dropping two important points against Norwich City on Saturday, the away side can take several positives from the display.

One of those was the performance of Tanguy Ndombele, who put in what was arguably his best display in a Tottenham shirt since signing for a club-record fee in the summer.

While the 23-year-old showed a lot of promise in preseason as well as in the first few games of the campaign, he has since then failed to get a consistent run in the side partly due to injury problems.

However, he certainly capitalised on his chance against the Canaries with Mourinho raving about the midfielder’s showing after the game (Football.London).

Squawka Football have provided the midfielder’s individual stats for the match and the numbers that Ndombele has posted are quite incredible.

Not only did the midfielder post a pass accuracy of 91% but he also made as many as 21 successful passes into the final third. Additionally, he also recovered the ball 11 times from the opposition and completed six take-ons in possession.

Here are the midfielder’s numbers for the match:

The performance and the numbers back up what many of us already know – Ndombele has the potential to evolve into a complete midfielder. He can recover the ball well, he has a good passing range, he can go past opponents and has the vision and awareness to start attacks from deep. Hopefully, he kicks on from this performance and nails his place down in the side.
