The incredible Eriksen stat that shows Spurs what they will miss if he leaves

Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen is expected to leave the club in the summer as there has been no progress on contract negotiations between the player’s representatives and the club.

With the Dane’s contract with the club coming to end in 2020, the club might be forced to sell him in the summer if they do not wish to see his contract run into its final year.

Tottenham are set to be on the lookout for a replacement for the 27-year-old with the likes of James Maddison and Nabil Fekir being linked with the club.

No matter who Tottenham sign though, replacing Eriksen would be almost impossible considering that the Dane has been one of the best playmakers in the Premier League over the last 5 years or so.

In fact, the former Ajax man has been a crucial part of Pochettino’s revolution, having played a key role in Tottenham’s transition into Champions League regulars.

According to ESPN, Eriksen has become just the second player in Premier League history after David Beckham to register at least 10 assists in 4 consecutive seasons.

While the midfielder’s form has been a bit patchy of late, there is no doubt that most Spurs fans will be hoping that the club can convince him to extend his stay.
