Tottenham are in negotiations with Palermo in a bid to take Danish centre-back Simon Kjaer and Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani to White Hart Lane, with the Italian side hoping to bank £28m for the pair.
‘The interest from Tottenham in Cavani and Kjaer is real,’ said Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini. ‘Negotiations are taking place and the total price for them both would be about €35m (£28m).’
Danish defender Kjaer is rated at around £15m and has attracted interest from Manchester City, Manchester United and Steve McLaren’s Wolfsburg.
Cavani, 23, playing in the World Cup with Uruguay, has his heart set on joining Inter Milan, but Zamparini added: ‘On Cavani, I can confirm that he is interested in joining Inter, but (their president Massimo) Moratti has never asked me about the player.’
