‘The majority would say’ – Pundit urges Harry Kane to make one summer decision

Alex McLeish believes Harry Kane would consider leaving Tottenham to join Manchester United this summer in his pursuit to win silverware.

Kane has yet to lift a trophy in his career and will go another season without glory with Spurs now out of every available competition beyond the Premier League.

He was linked with a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last summer after reportedly informing the club of his desire to move on (Sky Sports).

Now, United are said to be keeping an eye on Kane ahead of the summer with previous suitors City leaning towards signing Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland instead (Mirror).

And former Premier League manager McLeish can see the England captain leaving North London for Old Trafford if he views himself as the missing piece to United’s puzzle.

He told Football Insider: “I can still see Harry Kane making that move. He’ll probably be thinking, ‘Well, I can take them into the Champions League. I’m maybe the missing link up front.’

“I know he’s a very level-headed guy, but he’s got that confidence. He’s got those statistics behind him to be a guy who can lift them the Champions League ‘betterness’, shall we say, rather than greatness. At the moment, they’re a long way away from that.

“It is a crossroads and Harry’s the only one who can answer that. If he wishes to stay at Spurs, I’m sure fans will be absolutely delighted.

“At the same time, if he’s got that ambition to go and win when something else, if he’s serious, if he really believes Spurs can’t do it, that’s for him to make that decision.

“A lot of people will be saying you’ve got to go. I’d say the majority would say go to Man United, make them better and win something there. Then your career will be complete.”

United aren’t exactly in a better position than Spurs right now so it wouldn’t be guaranteed success for Kane if he did move there.

Unless Cristiano Ronaldo leaves this summer as well and a change of system is implemented, it is difficult to see how Kane would fit either.
