Joe Hart took to his Instagram story last night to reveal his new nickname for Matt Doherty following the arrival of Nuno Espirito Santo as the new head coach of Tottenham Hotspur.
Doherty joined Spurs from Wolves last summer and experienced a difficult first season in North London having previously impressed under Nuno at Molineux.
The pair were seen hard at work ahead of pre-season training commencing next week with Hart on the exercise bike while Doherty was running on the treadmill.
The Spurs goalkeeper described the right-back as ‘the new teachers [sic] pet’ given Doherty’s previous experience of working under the 47-year-old.

Spurs fans will be hopeful that Nuno will be able to get the best out of Doherty next season after witnessing a disappointing debut campaign in which he failed to oust Serge Aurier as Jose Mourinho’s first choice.
Doherty has typically been more comfortable operating in a wing-back role during his time at Wolves and it remains to be seen whether Nuno will adopt a similar formation at Spurs.
