The one current Spurs midfielder who Poch should build his side around

Tottenham Hotspur have a number of talented midfielders at the club at the moment, from Christian Eriksen to Dele Alli.

Pochettino has also been nurturing a fresh crop of academy graduates in the central midfield position over the past season, with Oliver Skipp, Luke Amos, and George Marsh all making debuts.

Moussa Sissoko has also enjoyed a surprising rise through the Spurs ranks over the past 12 months, with Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama also remaining as options.

However, the player who I believe Pochettino should be building his midfield around is young Harry Winks.

I honestly believe that Winks has the ability and mindset to become the one player both Tottenham and England desperately need.

Winks has the ability to cover vast amounts of defensive ground, win the ball, start attacks, drive with the ball at his feet, pick a pass, and generally keep the team ticking over.

If you look at Sergio Busquets for Barcelona over the past decade, or Luka Modric at Real Madrid, every big team has this holding midfielder who possess these abilities.

At 22-years-old, Harry Winks will only get better and I sincerely hope that if Poch brings in Tanguy Ndombele (Sky Sports), he partners his with Winks for years to come.

What do you think? Is Winks good enough? How good could he become?
