The one player I would be furious if Tottenham signed this summer

Tottenham Hotspur had a fantastic season last time out, finishing in the top four in the Premier League and reaching the final of the Champions League.

However, there are still positions I would like to see Pochettino and Levy strengthen in the summer in order to really push for trophies next season.

I would pick out right-back, central midfield, and striker as three positions that should be invested heavily in this transfer window.

However, after Hugo Lloris’ return to form towards the end of the season, and with him captaining Tottenham to their first CL Final, I did not expect to see Spurs linked with keepers this summer.

However, Corriere della Serra have reported that Tottenham are interested in Lazio shot-stopper Thomas Strakosha.

Calcio Mercato have added that Lazio value the player at a whopping £44.56m this summer, which confuses me even further.

Why would Spurs invest £45m in a new goalkeeper when they have a World Cup winner and the promising Paulo Gazzaniga on the bench?

I would be furious if Tottenham spent some of their budget on such a position.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. I agree a goalkeeper is not needed and should not take any of our budget away from what should be a priority for our club. I don’t however agree with what you yourself see as priority imo Right back, Midfield, a No10 and a Winger are priority. Ndombele, Lo Celso or Isco (or both lol ), Sessegnon and Wan-Bissaka or someone like him. I would also love to see us buy Ake to help shore up our defence but that position is not a priority just a hope. I would also like to say we should not be even thinking about selling Danny Rose, he is coming back to his best yes he should stop talking to the press but on the field he and Davies are strong so not really a priority for this season.

  2. i would not sell danny rose as i think he improved a lot as the season progressed and i certainly would not want madison from leicester as if we wanted him we should have bought him from norwich

  3. We need strengthening at full back in mudfield and a striker but the way things go with spurs were always all talk no bite.where we need change is at very top levy go and get proper investment to eat at top table not poundland..we never pull off deals always all talk.we thumped liverpool at wembley what did klopp do saw what was needed and chairman got players he wanted and look at them 2nd un table champs league winners.we need investment in players
