‘The result is totally unfair’ – Mourinho reacts to Spurs’ 3-2 loss against Wolves

Tottenham Hotspur have now lost back-to-back games in the Premier League, a real dent to their chances of finishing in the top four this season.

The Lilywhites hosted fellow top-four challengers Wolves at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, only to lose 3-2 this evening.

Spurs opened the scoring early on through Steven Bergwijn, as the Dutchman tapped home the rebound from Dele Alli’s poor miss.

Wolves then hit back in the first half with a tap in from Doherty after some poor Spurs defending. Although, a Serge Aurier curler put Spurs ahead just before the break.

Wolves were level again in the second 45 after Jota found the back of the net, before a superb goal from Jiminez put Wolves ahead for the first time.

Jose Mourinho has now claimed that he thinks the overall result was unfair, as his side deserved to get something from what he considered to be a very good game.

He said (Football London): “I don’t think so. I think it was a very good game with two teams that nobody was happy with the draw. Two teams trying to win it. Of course two teams with different styles. They are what we all know they are, incredibly fast and strong in counter-attack. We are a different team. Obviously, without the strikers, we tried different solutions.

“I think it worked in the sense that we managed to score goals. We managed to have some opportunities.

“We managed to arrive in dangerous positions. I don’t know as I don’t have the data at the moment but I believe we had more possession than them. We had more control than them. I think it’s unfair, the result is totally unfair for us but that’s what it is.”
