‘The rumours I hear’ – Ex-Spurs star claims Nuno has ‘lost certain players’ at the club

Paul Robinson has claimed that Nuno Espirito Santo may have already lost some of the players inside the Tottenham dressing room.

Nuno has come under a lot of pressure after Tottenham fell to their third consecutive Premier League defeat in the North London Derby on Sunday.

The 3-1 loss at the Emirates means that Nuno Espirito Santo’s men sit 11th in the table, having scored just four goals and conceded nine in six matches so far this season.

The Lilywhites also rank 20th in the Premier League for shots and chances created this term (according to the BBC).

Reports indicate that Nuno is already fighting to hold on to his job while other sources have suggested that some of the Tottenham players are far from convinced by the Portuguese coach.

Robinson has now claimed it is evident based on the team’s performances that the players have not bought into Nuno’s ideas.

The former Tottenham number one told Football Insider: “The team looks lost.

“I think there are divisions in the dressing room between some players and the manager. Certain players do not look like they’re buying into what he is doing. Something is not right.

“If the rumours I hear are to be believed, there are divisions in the camp and the manager has lost certain players. It rings true when you see the performance at the weekend.”

Once rumours of player discontent start being leaked to the press, it signals the start of the end of a manager’s time at a club. It is certainly concerning that it has happened so early into Nuno’s reign. Unless he manages to turn things around quickly, I do fear for the 47-year-old.
