The shirt numbers available to Steven Bergwijn at Tottenham

Tottenham are reported to be closing in on PSV winger Steven Bergwijn before the close of the transfer window (the Guardian).

The 22-year-old would become Jose Mourinho’s second signing at the club after Spurs brought in Gedson Fernandes on a loan deal with an option to buy earlier this month.

The 22-year-old was left out of PSV’s squad to face FC Twente in the Eredivisie on Sunday.

Bergwijn who can play centrally as well as out wide has already notched up five goals and ten assists in the Dutch top flight so far this campaign (transfermarkt).

With the 22-year-old reportedly already in London in order to seal the transfer (ESPN), here are the options the Dutch international will have at Spurs in terms of shirt numbers (Spurs official):

Number 2, Number 3, Number 9, Number 25, Number 26, Number 31, Number 32 and Number 34.

Apart from these, the Number 23 shirt could also become available with Eriksen linked heavily with a move to Inter Milan.

Spurs Web Opinion

Irrespective of the shirt number Bergwijn will wear at Spurs, this could be a sensational signing if we can pull it off. The Dutch international helps plug a couple of holes in the squad and given his age, he has the potential to develop into one of the top players in Europe.
