The stat that makes Tottenham’s win over Dortmund even more impressive

Tottenham beat Borussia Dortmund 1-0 at the Westfalenstadion in the second leg tonight, thus overcoming the Germans 4-0 on aggregate. As expected, Dortmund started the game aggressively trying to push Spurs back and get an early goal.

Tottenham, however, held strong with the Spurs defense ensuring that they didn’t give away easy chances. Hugo Lloris also came up with a couple of sharp saves to ensure that the game remained 0-0 going into the half time interval.

Spurs struck early in the second half as a nicely threaded pass by Moussa Sissoko, saw Harry Kane finish past Roman Bürki to put the tie beyond the home side. That’s how the scoreline stayed until 90 minutes as Spurs managed to keep a clean sheet.

This is the first game that BVB have lost at the Westfalenstadion this season in any competition. The German side, who find themselves at the top of the Bundesliga table, have had a terrific season so far, and boast of one of the best home records in Europe.

This makes Tottenham’s professional performance and victory tonight even more impressive.
