The stat that shows Tottenham are already reliant on Ndombele after just two games

Tottenham Hotspur’s record signing, Tanguy Ndombele, had a dream start to his Spurs career last month when he took on Aston Villa.

Spurs were 1-0 down and struggling in the second half of the match, with the Villa defence proving to be stubborn and effective.

However, Ndombele managed to come up with the goods and score on his debut to equalise, something that kickstarted a late Spurs flurry. They eventually won the game 3-1.

Ndombele then started the away match against City and proved to be an effective force in the centre of the pitch in the 2-2 draw.

What may be both exciting and worrying for Spurs fans is that, despite only playing half the games this season (two out of four), Ndombele has recorded the most tackles for Tottenham (Sun).

The Frenchman has six so far this season, with Lamela, Walker-Peters, and Winks all on five. This is a sign of how important Ndombele is already in that midfield enforcer role.

Meanwhile, Harry Kane has recorded the most fouls for Spurs with eight, above Rose on seven, and Sanchez and Sissoko on six.

Spurs Web Opinion:

This does not come as a surprise as Ndombele always looks dominant in that defensive midfield role. His pace, power, and drive make him a tough man to get past. What I want to see more of is his trademark bursts down the pitch the the ball at his feet.
