The Times name Tottenham’s five unsung heroes of the season

Tottenham Hotspur have certainly had some stand out players this season, as they push for the Premier League title, while also having one foot into the quarter finals of the Champions League.

Harry Kane has been at his goal scoring best, Toby Alderweireld has been a rock at the back, and the likes of Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli have been dynamite in midfield.

However, The Times chose to compile a list of Tottenham’s five unsung heroes this week, including names some perhaps would have put near the top of their list come the start of the season.

The Times first name Georges Kevin-Nkoudou, purely for his last minute pinpoint cross into the box for Harry Winks’ winner against Fulham in January.

Fernando Llorente also makes the list, with his 87th minute winner against Watford cited as his best moment.

Heung Min Son has certainly upped his game to another level in recent months, and The Times add him for his grinding effort, playing eight matches in January alone for club and country.

Harry Winks makes the cut for his performance against Leicester, with the midfielder bossing the middle of the park.

And finally, Jan Vertonghen rounds off the list, you guessed it, for his insane man of the match performance against Borussia Dortmund.
