Let’s forget Tottenham, let’s even forget the Premier League. Over the past four seasons, Mousa Dembele has been one of the most underrated players in world football.

Dembele signed for Spurs from Fulham back in 2012, after his release clause of £15m was triggered.

Since then, the marauding Belgian has gone on to play a huge 232 games for the Lilywhites, but here comes the controversial stat… in that time, Dembele has only managed 10 goals.

This is the point that often leaves him overlooked as one of the world’s best centre-midfield stars, as he has never really found his shooting boots in front of goal for Tottenham, but then again, that really isn’t his game.

In regard to ball carrying, dropping the shoulder, driving the team forward, winning the ball, passing and creating chances, there are no better players that Mousa Dembele.

Danny Rose and Dele Alli have both named Dembele as the very best player at Tottenham.

Perhaps he is one of those players who you have to watch week in week out to appreciate the full range of his talents, but Spurs fans will know with some certainty that the Belgian is extremely underrated.
