The two Gunners who make it into Paul Merson’s combined Spurs and Arsenal XI

Paul Merson has given his opinion on what he thinks is the strongest combined XI between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

The former Arsenal midfielder believes that only two of the Gunners side would make it into a combined team with Spurs players.

Only Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mesut Ozil are named in the team by Merson that is dominated by Mauricio Pochettino’s men.

Former Spurs manager Tim Sherwood was also asked the same question and decided not to name any Arsenal players in his side.

Both sides meet at the Emirates on Sunday with just three points separating the North London rivals in the Premier League standings.

Since Mauricio Pochettino has been in charge, Tottenham have won more Premier League derby matches than any other side (22) and will be looking to continue this impressive statistic come Sunday evening.

It remains to be seen if the Spurs boss will shuffle his squad once again following Wednesday night’s impressive win against Inter Milan, while Arsenal rested a number of key players in last night’s Europa League win.
