‘The way they start’ – Mark Lawrenson predicts Tottenham vs Wolves score

Mark Lawrenson expects Tottenham to ease past Wolves at home on Saturday, opining that he expects Gary O’Neil’s men to struggle to cope with the Lilywhites’ firepower.

Tottenham go into Saturday’s clash on the back of a morale-boasting win against Brighton, with Son Heung-min and Brennan Johnson coming off the bench to combine for a winner last week.

Ange Postecoglou’s men needed those three points to keep pace with the teams at the summit of the Premier League table and the Australian will now hope that his side can keep up the pressure with another win on Saturday afternoon.

Wolves come into the game with two losses in their last three league games, with their lacklustre showing last week against Brentford at home perhaps raising some alarm bells in the West Midlands.

Will Tottenham beat Wolves this weekend?

Lawrenson believes that O’Neil’s men will struggle to cope with the intensity that Tottenham play with unless they show vast improvement from last week.

The pundit told Paddy Power: “Wolves lost last time and the 2-0 scoreline could have been worse because Brentford were really good. I’m going to back Tottenham here.

“The way they start in games, I can’t see Wolves holding them off in the first 20 minutes and then the game’s completely different if you’re a goal down early on.”

Prediction: Tottenham 2-0 Wolves.

Spurs Web Opinion

Even though Wolves are not on a good run of form at the moment, with Spurs missing a couple of starters, this game could prove tricky if we do not start well.

However, given that we are at home and that Ange is now blessed with some strong options on the bench, we have more than enough firepower to emerge relatively comfortable winners.
