‘There are offers’ – Club president admits rumoured Spurs target could leave

Lille president Gerard Lopez has admitted that rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Zeki Celik could leave the club before the transfer window closes.

Celik was one of several right-backs Tottenham were linked with earlier in the window (Le10Sport) before they eventually landed Matt Doherty from Wolves.

Doherty has made a fine start to his career at Spurs and seems to have displaced Serge Aurier as the club’s first-choice in the position.

Although reports indicate that Jose Mourinho wants Aurier to stay at the club (Football.London), some claim that AC Milan are still in talks with the Lilywhites over the Ivorian and could swoop for him before the transfer window shuts (Daily Mail).

It now appears that Celik could be available, with Lopez now admitting that the club have had offers for the Turkish international.

He told France Bleu: “There are offers (for Celik) so anything is possible.”

Additionally, Lopez confirmed that goalkeeper Mike Maignan, another player rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar (La Voix du Nord), will stay at Lille.
