“There’s no one worse to train against” – Eric Dier praises Spurs team-mate

Eric Dier sat down for an interview with Premier League productions earlier this week and the centre-back waxed lyrical about the attacking talent Tottenham have at their disposal.

Tottenham’s defence has received plenty of praise over the last few weeks, with the Lilywhites having conceded just one goal in their last five Premier League matches.

Dier has played every single minute of those five games and his improved form has been one of the main factors behind Spurs’ impenetrable defence.

With all the praise Mourinho’s men have been receiving for being tight at the back, it is easy to forget that they are also the third-highest scorers in the league this season and possess an embracement of riches in the attacking areas.

While Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, and to a slightly lesser extent, Gareth Bale, tend to receive most of the attention, Dier also raved about Lucas Moura, Steven Bergwijn and Erik Lamela, who have all seen plenty of game time so far this season.

After raving about Kane, Son and Kane, Dier went on to add: “There’s no one worse to train against than Lucas Moura. He’s a nightmare. He’s so fast, so sharp,”

“Coco (Lamela) is a nightmare because offensively he’s so good, but when you have the ball he kicks lumps out of you.

“Steven Bergwijn is a player I enjoy to watch in training and in games. He has that Dutch-style about him. He’s so good in possession, keeps the ball so well, technically so sound.

“I think they’re all fantastic because they’re all quite different as well which is really nice. You’ve got six options there that are all quite different. No two players are the same.”
