‘They are convinced’ – Ornstein reveals what he’s heard on Kane’s future

The Athletic’s David Ornstein has revealed that some people he has spoken to are convinced Harry Kane will remain in the Premier League for the rest of his career.

Kane’s current contract with Spurs runs out at the end of next season (Transfermarkt), with Football.London’s Alasdair Gold predicting last week that the North London club will surely begin negotiations with the striker over a new deal before too long.

However, in the meantime, multiple reports have suggested that Bayern Munich remain keen on snapping up the England captain, with 90 min even claiming that Tottenham are becoming ‘increasingly concerned’ about the Bundesliga giants’ interest in the player.

SportBild (26/09/22 – as relayed by Sport Witness) claimed last week that the 29-year-old’s agent has ‘already been assured’ by the Bayern hierarchy that they will make an offer for him next summer if he does not sign a new contract with Spurs.

However, Ornstein has revealed that people around the game are not convinced Harry Kane would be open to a move to Germany.

The journalist said on Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE YouTube channel: “You speak to some people around the game and they say they are convinced that Harry Kane is so settled in this country that they don’t see him playing outside.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It is clear that Kane has his eyes on Alan Shearer’s record, which is why I do not think a move to Bayern is on the cards for the striker even if he does not sign a contract extension with Spurs.

The 29-year-old does not have too many better options in the Premier League, now that City have signed Erling Haaland, which is why I think he will sign a new deal at N17.
