‘They are only people’ – Antwerp midfielder not fazed by Tottenham challenge

After a hard-fought win against Burnley on Monday, where Tottenham had to deal with a constant bombarded of long-balls, Jose Mourinho’s side have a very different test to look forward to tomorrow as they travel to Belgium to take on Royal Antwerp.

The Lilywhites started their Europa League group stage campaign with a comfortable 3-0 win over LASK and will be hoping to make it two wins from two on Thursday.

The Belgian side also made an excellent start to the competition as they came from 1-0 down to beat Ludogorets 2-1 away from home last week.

They come into the match against Spurs with plenty of momentum, having beaten Beerschot in the Jupiler Pro League on Sunday.

Antwerp star, Simen Juklerod has since admitted that he is looking forward to locking horns against Spurs.

The Norwegian, who is a left-back by trade, has shone in left-midfield this season, having registered three goals and two assists for Antwerp so far (tranfermarkt.com).

When asked about what he expects from tomorrow’s game, he joked (HLN as relayed by Sport Witness): “That we will have a lot of possession and that Tottenham will clock out.”

On a more serious note, he added: “No, it will be very difficult, but at the same time also very nice to play against a really good team. It’s going to be fun.

“After all, they are only people. We will do our very best and see where we end up That’s the right mentality, and we’ll see if it’s enough to cause an upset.”
