Any potential suitors who wish to sign Toby Alderweireld for a cut price £25 million have just ten days to make the most of the transfer release clause contained in his contract (Metro).
The 30-year-old has proven over the past few seasons that he is one of the best central defenders in world football yet Spurs face the predicament of him now being in the last twelve months of his contract.
Alderweireld is set to fly out with his Tottenham team mates to the far east on Wednesday for the club’s pre-season tour which will see them play friendly matches against Juventus in Singapore and Manchester United in Shanghai.
Roma director Gianluca Petrachi has confirmed his interest in signing the Belgian this summer with former Spurs technical director Franco Baldini conducting negotiations on behalf of the Serie A side (Football-Italia.net) and hope to secure a deal for less than his release clause.
The news has seen some Spurs fans take to social media to share their thoughts on the possibility of Alderweireld departing North London.
