Plenty of learning’ – Troy Parrott opens up on his two loan spells away from Spurs

Troy Parrott has taken to social media to thank Ipswich Town for the experience he gained during his loan spell after scoring in the club’s final league game of the season.

There was a lot of expectation on Parrott when he was loaned out to Millwall last summer but things did not go according to plan for the striker at the Den.

The 19-year-old did not score a single goal during his spell with the Lions and found himself struggling to get starts, which prompted Tottenham to recall him from Millwall in January and loan him to Ipswich for the second half of the season.

The Tottenham academy man has enjoyed a much better time of it at the Portman Road Stadium, having made 18 appearances in League One since arriving at the club.

Parrot signed off in style on Sunday as he produced an excellent finish to help Ispwich to a 3-1 win over Fleetwood in their final game of the season.

Here’s how Republic of Ireland international reacted after scoring his second goal for the Tractor Boys:

Just because Parrot was not prolific in the Championship or League One, does not mean that he does not have the quality to succeed at the top level.

Kane hardly pulled up any trees during his loan spells but that has not stopped him from evolving into the best striker in world football.

I would expect Parrott to be loaned out again to a Championship club next season as he needs to play competitive football to continue his development.
