‘Things will advance’ – Agent of alleged Spurs and Arsenal target speaks on player’s future

Gabriel Jesus’ agent has claimed his Manchester City future will be resolved after his stint with the Brazilian national team, with Tottenham allegedly showing an interest in the forward.

Jesus’ place in Pep Guardiola’s side has come under threat this summer with one year remaining on his current deal (Transfermarkt) following the arrival of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

Spurs have since been named as possible suitors for the 25-year-old as they continue to build under Antonio Conte, but are reportedly being rivalled by Arsenal for the versatile forward (Telegraph).

With Jesus in the off-season and away on international duty with Brazil after another Premier League-winning campaign with City, all eyes will be on him ahead of the opening of the transfer market.

And his agent Marcelo Pettinati believes progress regarding his future in Manchester will be made when the international break comes to an end.

He said (via the Manchester Evening News): “At the moment we’re understanding all of the projects, so right now isn’t the time to say anything. Things will advance after his time with the national team.”

Jesus arrived at City in a £28.8 million deal from Palmeiras in 2017 and has since gone on to score 95 goals in 236 appearances (Transfermarkt).

Spurs Web Opinion

Someone like Jesus could be a very good addition for Spurs as he would provide more depth to the forward line and support Harry Kane, but the price could be a sticking point.

He is pretty versatile which is a bonus but that hasn’t necessarily helped his case with his goal involvements being reduced when deployed on the wing.
