This development that may boost chances of Eriksen staying at Spurs

Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen has been heavily linked with a move away from Spurs at the end of the season after the club have failed to agree on a new contract with the Dane.

Eriksen’s current contract with the club runs out in the summer of 2020 and Spurs will seriously have to consider whether they need to sell him in the summer if they want to get a decent fee for the Dane.

The playmaker has been linked primarily with Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona. Madrid, in particular, are expected to invest heavily into the squad in the summer as they have had a poor season which is likely to end without a single piece of silverware.

One player who is expected to join Los Blancos in the summer is Chelsea attacker Eden Hazard, who has made no secret of his desire to move to the Spanish capital.

According to a report in the Independent, Madrid are now preparing a mindblowing €350m offer for PSG striker Neymar, who they have made their number one target for the summer.

This certainly bodes well for Spurs as it is unlikely that Madrid would be able to come up with a big fee for Eriksen while also singing Hazard and Neymar in the same transfer window.
