The Sun have claimed that James Maddison could be on the move from Leicester City as early as this week.
Over the last few days, there have been several positive updates regarding Tottenham’s pursuit of Maddison.
The Northern Echo reported on Monday that Spurs are ‘strong favourites’ to land the England international this summer, with the player alleged to be ‘edging towards’ a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The outlet suggested that the 26-year-old prefers to live in London over the North East while Ange Postecoglou’s men are also willing to offer him a higher salary than the Magpies.
This was followed by an update by The Daily Mail on Tuesday, which suggested that the talk around the England camp is that the attacking midfielder prefers a move to Spurs over the other suitors.

The Sun have now become the latest publication to report on the matter, citing that same Daily Mail report from earlier in the week while adding that the deal could be done sooner rather than later.
It is asserted that the former Norwich City man could seal his exit from the King Power Stadium by the end of this week as teams are now ready to submit their offers after the end of the international fixtures.

It appears as if the attacking midfielder and the goalkeeping positions have been identified as the two priorities by Postecoglou, with the club seemingly keen to fill those roles before the squad flies out to Australia and Asia for pre-season.
However, unless Leicester drop their valuation of Maddison, it is unlikely that any deal would be struck by the end of this week.
