Thomas Frank admits he finally knows his strongest Tottenham XI, but there is a problem

Tottenham face a gruelling run of fixtures after the international break, and Thomas Frank has shared his thoughts on how he intends to handle the demanding schedule ahead.

With the international break now firmly behind us, the next few weeks are bound to become hectic for Tottenham Hotspur and Thomas Frank.

Spurs are competing in four competitions, and within the next 22 days, Tottenham will have to feature in the Carabao Cup, the Premier League, and the Champions League, which will undoubtedly stretch the squad’s depth and fitness levels.

But before looking too far ahead, their first league fixture after the break is against Aston Villa, a side now finding their rhythm after a slow start to the season and beginning to look sharp under Unai Emery once again.

Thomas Frank on Tottenham’s busy run of fixtures

Thomas Frank has now spoken to Tottenham’s official channel about what the next seven games in 22 days will look like for Spurs, starting with Aston Villa this weekend.

The Spurs boss stressed that his players thrive on being active on the pitch rather than spending long hours on the training ground.

“We love to play games. Players would rather play than train. We have a fantastic run of games ahead of us. Villa are a top team with a top manager. I have great respect for Unai Emery. What he has done is fantastic. They have a very strong team, and I am looking forward to it.”

Frank knows his strongest Spurs XI but not everyone is available

Frank knows he will need every member of his squad if he is to navigate through this demanding run of fixtures successfully.

He has been handed a few fitness boosts, with the likes of Takai, Radu Dragusin and Muani edging closer to full fitness ahead of this crucial spell.

When speaking on squad rotation, Frank admitted that while every manager has an idea of their strongest XI, the reality of football’s schedule often dictates otherwise.

Speaking further about managing his squad, the Tottenham boss said: “We all have an idea in our heads what the strongest team is with everyone available, but I have to create the strongest team with what players are available now.”
