Thomas Frank clarifies Fabio Paratici’s Tottenham position amid Fiorentina rumours

Fabio Paratici has been linked with a departure from his role at Tottenham Hotspur, but Thomas Frank has made clear where the Italian’s priorities currently lie.

Tottenham Hotspur adopted a new model earlier in the season which saw Fabio Paratici and Johan Lange become co-sporting directors of the club.

This saw the return of the Italian, who previously had a role at Spurs in 2021 before he was handed a 30-month FIFA ban after Juventus were found guilty of false accounting.

However, it has been suggested that Fabio Paratici could leave his new role at Tottenham in order to work for Fiorentina in his home country.

Thomas Frank claims Fabio Paratici is working hard for Tottenham

One Italian journalist recently claimed Paratici’s switch to Fiorentina could fall through and Spurs manager Thomas Frank has now had his say on the matter.

The Dane has not given any definite answers regarding Paratici’s future, but he has revealed the club’s sporting director is focused on negotiating transfers for Tottenham.

Eyebrows were raised when Fiorentina took Manor Solomon from Spurs on loan on Friday and all Frank would say on that move was: “I just think that every transfer is something we agree on as the right decision. So in that case it’s the same.”

When asked who Paratici works for right now, Frank joked: “Good question, maybe you know.” He then added: “Fabio is Tottenham sporting director. I spoke to him twice yesterday. He is working very hard for Tottenham.

It is not Frank’s job to keep tabs on Paratici’s Spurs status

Frank finds himself in a difficult position, with Tottenham in the bottom half of the Premier League table midway through the season.

His focus has to be on turning things around and having to answer questions about Paratici is nothing but a distraction for what has to be his main aim.

The Spurs sporting director needs to be open and transparent about his future plans, because it is not Frank’s responsibility to do his explaining for him.
