While Tottenham registered a comfortable 3-0 win over Slavia Prague on Tuesday, one piece of bad news regarding the experienced Spurs star takes a bit of shine off the result.
There was no shortage of positives from Spurs’ win over Slavia Prague, with the Lilywhites making it three wins from three at home in the Champions League.
Tottenham Hotspur are yet to concede a goal in Europe this season, and are now within touching distance of a top-eight spot, which will take the North Londoners straight to the round of 16 stage.
Thomas Frank’s men now have momentum with two back-to-back wins, but there is one piece of bad news for the Lilywhites from Tuesday night.

Senior Tottenham star suspended for clash against Borussia Dortmund
Spurs now have a big break from Europe as they only resume their Champions League campaign with a trip to Borussia Dortmund on January 20.
However, it has now been confirmed that they will be without one of their most important players when they go to Germany.
Micky van de Ven was booked for a foul in the first half against Slavia Prague after he caught his opponent with a swinging elbow while he was dribbling.
That was the Dutchman’s third yellow card of this Champions League campaign, and means that he will have to sit out the important clash at Dortmund next month.
Thomas Frank is disappointed by Van de Ven’s lack of application
According to Football.London, Frank was seen chastising his centre-back on the sidelines when he picked up the booking.
The Dane reportedly shouted at Van de Ven and pointed to his own head as if to tell the 24-year-old to think before he acts.
When asked about his frustration at Van de Ven’s suspension, Frank said in his post-match press conference (via the club’s official website): “Yeah, which I understand, of course. That was the minor negative thing here. Yeah, it is what it is.”
